Must See - Things to do in Beadnell

The Beach! Between the harbour and the Long Nanny are usually quite calm waters, perfect for splashing about in or paddleboarding. South of the Nanny are rougher waters, for the hardcore swimmers or surfers. In spring / early summer terns nest at the mouth of the Nanny and as the chicks hatch this can be a most wonderful sight.
Beadnell Point - Walk north from the lime kilns next to the harbour and past the remains of St Ebba’s Chapel. If conditions are safe to do so keep going right to the end of Beadnell Point. It basically feels like you are in the middle of the sea!
Historic sites - There are plenty places around Beadnell where you can see evidence of days gone by. Spend an hour or two pottering around and you will soon see the remains of old limekilns, fisheries, quarries etc. For more information order the book Limekilns and Lobster Pots by Katrina Porteous. It should be available on Amazon for a few quid and it goes into great detail about the history of Beadnell and what can still be seen today.
The Village Centre - surrounding the Church of St Ebba there are a few nice little cafe’s and pubs and historic buildings. There is also the children’s playpark a couple minutes walk from here.

Geoff’s Fish and Chip Van - located next to the village store at Beadnell Haven. Grab some fish and chips and sit on the picnic tables on the green or wander down to the beach behind the shop to watch the sunset 🙂.
